MS can’t stop a diesel. That’s what these guys are out to prove. In 2006 lead singer and song
writer for Evil Diesel was dealt an overwhelming blow being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Refusing to give up and bring back the sound of the rock he grew up on, Chris marched on. This
would be a big undertaking. MS had stolen some of his coordination, feeling in his hands and legs
but not his desire to rock. His first thought was to call guitarist and former band mate from Tin
Henry, Nathan Schmidt to play on the song he had written and talk about his new hunger. Described
as a back to the basics, turn it up and let it ride rock and roll sound. Not metal and not the
new sound that was being copied by every band that was popular at the time. It was just straight
ahead rock like they were brought up on, Schmidt was sold. Always being caught up in the sound of
what was hot and being told to stay current had forced the hand of past projects. Having heroes
like AC/DC and Kiss was bound to surface at some point in their careers. What was going to be one
song recorded by two good friends turned into a complete cd by a full band. Schmidt having a
neighbor that was a bass player not currently in a project worked out for the recording of the
first track so well that they need look no farther. Jeff Miller had played around the club scene
and seen his share of success with previous band Butter Boy porno star. Veteran drummer Walt
Alexander had played with Schmidt in a later version of Tin Henry and was suggested To Cox to
fill the critical position of Time keeper for the project. Alexander having history with Schmidt
and being an incredible drummer fell right in. Old school hard driving rock and roll is back with
vengeance. It’s been coming down the road for quite some time and it’s being delivered by an Evil
Diesel.
